The Social Ministry Department of the Baptist Convention of South Sudan (BCOSS) exists to express the compassion of Christ through practical service and community support.
We recognize that the Gospel calls us not only to preach, but also to respond to the physical, social, and emotional needs of people — especially the vulnerable, the suffering, and the marginalized.
Through humanitarian assistance, poverty alleviation programs, disaster relief, and community development initiatives, this department plays a vital role in demonstrating God’s love in action across South Sudan.
Supporting individuals and families facing hardship with love and dignity.
Strengthening communities through sustainable programs and long-term solutions.
Responding to emergencies, crises, and displacement with immediate assistance.
Helping widows, orphans, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
Promoting fairness, peace, and protection for vulnerable groups.
Providing essential support such as food aid, clean water, clothing, and shelter for struggling families.
Mobilizing rapid-response teams during floods, conflicts, and humanitarian crises.
Implementing long-term projects that promote sustainability, including agriculture support, livelihood training, and community empowerment.
Assisting widows, orphans, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and people living with disabilities.
Promoting forgiveness, unity, and peaceful coexistence within communities.
Equipping local churches to run feeding programs, community support groups, and social outreach ministries.
