2015 - Great Days afloat!

2015 FlyerWhether you cruise with the family onboard, sail shorthanded or race around the cans, there's something for you in the BCOSS sailing series.

In 2015 the clubs of the River Blackwater and Colne are once again pooling their organising efforts to provide 3 events in which members of all RYA clubs can participate.

The aim is to provide a large fleet environment for each of the events with the focus on fun and participation where crews can choose to sail as leisurely as they like. There'll be a white sail class, no spinnaker, local handicap and IRC classes in each of the events. We've even got a pontoon party arranged for the evening before the first event in Bradwell marina and a social supper and shoreside games planned for the event at West Mersea.

Clubs can use the spectacle of the large fleets to capture images and generate good news stories to promote their club. What better way to attract new members, excite them by the stories and take prospective members out as part of your crew to introduce them to everything that's great about sailing on the Blackwater and Colne.

Download and print the flyer for your noticeboard, or send your fellow sailors a link to this site.

Pontoon Party Bradwell Marina

Because of the very early morning tides on the following day, participating boats are encouraged to enter Bradwell Marina on Saturday evening, therefore making it easy to join the start of the race just off Bradwell on Sunday morning. An informal social gathering for crews will be held in the marina bar, and the race officer will be on hand to answer questions about the start area and course.

Please contact Bradwell Marina in advance to give an indication of your intention to berth in the marina on Saturday evening.
